All About Ample
Ample: The Dim Ages
Portia Ample has returned after making "friends" all over the world!!! She returns to Hollygrove after a decade of domestic bliss only to find her dear cousin, Truly, unable to get out of the hay (she's always had so much more fun in it anyway!) And her dear friend Prudence was searching for a partner to help present her silly stories. So she is back ready to always lend a helping hand or bosom!!!!
Heidi (aka Portia) is not a newcomer to the Michigan Renaissance Festival or the stage for that matter and she and LisaMarie have been working together since 1982. She began her festival career while attending Oakland University where she received her BA in Theatre and was awarded the very first Gittlen Award for the most outstanding theater student. Heidi fell in love with the festival while learning to "roll in the hay" at Hunker Hauser. At MRF she went on to perform and direct the Shakespeare Shorts aka Bloody Horrible and Mass Stabbing of Julius Caesar, Romeo and Juliet, and Macbeth written by Clark Orwick (Ded Bob.) She performed with LisaMarie again in the very clever Fallen Women. She then left Michigan to pursue a graduate degree. Heidi earned her MFA in Acting at the University of South Carolina where she interned and performed at the Folger Theater in Washington DC and performed in Fuente Ovejuna, Othello, and Richard III she also received an award for the most promising talent. Heidi returned to Michigan and the festival to work again with LisaMarie to develop and perform Ample & Trite. Heidi has taught and performed with the Attic Theater, Meadowbrook Theatre, and other local theaters, companies, and even commercials. When Heidi isn't on stage being a character she spends most of her time "acting" like a soccer mom, wife, and PTO President.
